NAPIER, New Zealand, CMC – The second One Day International (ODI) between West Indies and New Zealand has been abandoned due to a wet outfield.
Persistent rain through the morning and early afternoon in Napier left a section of the field too wet for play and the umpires called off the match shortly after 5:00 p.m. local time, three hours after the scheduled start.
Both teams meet in the third ODI in Queenstown on New Year’s Day (Tuesday night Caribbean time).
The West Indies lead the five-match ODI series one-nil.
