Clinton Hart, a chainsaw operator from Region One, was taken before the Georgetown Magistratesโ Court on Monday to face the indictable charge of murder.
The 30-year-old appeared before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty in relation to the December 25th murder of 23-year-old Marlon Sam. The murder occurred at Kwakwani Park, Upper Berbice River.
According to reports, the men had been drinking at a nightspot at about 23:30hrs when an argument ensued. During the course of the argument, Sam was allegedly stabbed to the chest with a knife by the defendant. The stab wounds were inflicted on both sides of his chest.
Hart was remanded to prison until January 10 when he is to make his next appearance.
