Naleenie Narine, an Agricola, East Bank Demerara farmer yesterday morning welcomed two additional bulls via the Government’s Artificial Insemination (AI) programme.
The semen was imported from one of the top ten ranked bulls in the World, Mr. Manso,
the Government Information Agency reported yesterday.
Agriculture Minister Dr. Leslie Ramsammy yesterday paid a visit to Narine’s home where the animals were inspected by Veterinarians and AI Technicians from the Guyana Livestock Development Authority (GLDA), GINA said.
“I feel really happy right now. While this is not the first time we welcomed animals through the Government Artificial Insemination programme, it is the first time my husband and I welcome twins and we are really excited,” Naleenie Narine said.
Naleenie and her husband have been rearing cattle for the past 22 years, and run a very successful small cattle farm, GINA said.
