The National Library in collaboration with Francis Quamina Farrier and the University of Guyana will be hosting a concert and exhibition to commemorate life and work of AJ Seymour, late Guyanese poet on Sunday January 12, 2014 at the Theatre Guild from 7.00 pm.
A release from the National Library said that tickets for ‘See More Poetry’ are available at the Library and Theatre Guild at a cost of $1,000 and $2,000.
The exhibition highlighting the poet’s work will be in the foyer of the Theatre Guild on January 12 and from the following day in the lobby of the main wing of the National Library.
In addition, on Monday January 13, a plaque will be mounted on the former residence of the late poet at 23 North Road, Bourda.
On Wednesday January 15, the National Libray will be launching a Hall of Fame for the Literary Arts in the Emily Murray Reading Room with the posthumous induction of AJ Semour, at 5.00 pm. A lecture will be given by Dr Jacqueline de Weever in the National Library’s conference room, the release added.
