KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC- Discarded West Indies batsman, Nkrumah Bonner, smashed a powerful half century to guide Donovan Nelson’s XI to a 19-run win over John Campbell’s XI in the first Super50 trial match at Sabina Park on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Bonner hit one six and five fours to post 68 as Nelson’s XI, batting first, made 207 for nine off their 50 overs. A five-wicket haul from young left-arm spinner Patrick Harty spearheaded the demise of Campbell’s X1 who were dismissed for 188, from a superbly placed 50 without loss. Jamaica will name a 14-member squad for the regional Super50 in Trinidad and Tobago by Friday.
