Former Assistant Commissioner of Police and Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, Carlotta Dodson died on Monday at the Woodlands Hospital after undergoing surgery.
Commissioner of Police, Leroy Brumell said that he was shocked to hear of Dodson’s death. He said that she was always willing to support the Police Force. “We will miss a very good support for the police,” he said, adding that he was not aware of her illness but did notice her absence from most of their Police functions. “She had a pleasant personality with aserious face but she was always willing to help,” said Brumell. He noted that he had known Dodson since 1978 and he “use to be afraid to go speak to her.”
Dodson served in the Guyana Police Force for over thirty years and also achieved the post of Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, retiring in February 2002. Dodson’s son, Travis Kilkenny said that he was still trying to come to grips with everything that has happened since her death.
