Suicide is suspected in the death of a 77-year-old pensioner of Bounty Hall, Essequibo Coast who was discovered hanging in his house yesterday.
Dead is Edward Bradford, who was last seen alive by his neighbour, Roxanne Livon, on Wednesday around 14:30hrs.
Livon, who is a housewife, said that she looked through a window of Bradford’s house and saw him hanging with a piece of yellow rope around his neck and tied to a rafter in the house.
Livon said looking through the window was something she did often to check on her elderly neighbour. After realizing that she had not seen him all day yesterday, she looked through the window sometime around 4 to 4.30 pm and made the gruesome discovery.
She raised an alarm and made a report to the Charity Police Station.
According to reports, Bradford lived alone.
His body was examined by police and no marks of violence were found.
The body was taken to the Suddie Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
