The Indian Cultural Centre screens The Dirty Picture this afternoon, in its first screening for 2014 at its Lot 67 New Haven, Bel Air, Georgetown location.
According to a press release, the 2011 film is inspired by South Indian actress Silk Smitha and tells a story of women who have been involved in roles in films which make them sex-symbols . Vidya Balan gives an award winning performance as Reshma, a girl who becomes a star and controversial celebrity through her films and her personal life.
The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi and is directed by Milan Luthria. The soundtrack features songs performed by Bappi Lahiri, Shreya Ghoshal and others, the release said.
Admission is free and the film starts at 5.30 pm.
