The final of the Mayor’s 79th birthday anniversary seven-a-side Inter-Ward football tournament will take place today at the Den Amstel Community ground with home side Den Amstel facing off against Georgetown outfit North East La Penitence from 17:00hrs.
Den Amstel earned their place in the final following victories over South Sophia
and Kitty in the semi-final and quarterfinal rounds respectively.
The team will rely on the likes of Jeffrey Perreira, Delon Lanferman and Travis Hilliman to repel the advances of their opponents.
Possessing a star-studded line up that features the likes of Devon Millington, Solomon Austin, Andrew Murray Jr., and Hubert Pedro, North East La Penitence will fancy their chances of walking away with the championship title following impressive wins over North Sophia and Pouderoyen in the earlier stages.
The eventual champions will pocket the championship trophy, $100,000 and hampers donated by Ricks and Sari Agro Industries. The runners-up will pocket $50,000, the second place trophy and hampers also from the aforementioned entity.
