The Berbice Softball Alliance (BSA) in
collaboration with Nand Persaud and Company will be hosting their inaugural Karibee Cup 15 overs-a-side softball cricket competition on February 2 at the Port Mourant community Centre Ground.
The BSA which was registered back in April of 2013 aims to promote consistent competition in both male and female categories of the softball fraternity across the country with supplementary aims of exposing more youths to a positive way in life.
The tournament will be held on one day with the first four teams competing being the first four registered members of the BSA, namely; Berbice Titans, Oldendorff Raiders, Whim Super Kings and Karibee Boys.
In addition to the male category the female Karibee Strikers will battle Mike’s Wellwomen in a feature 10/10 match. A cash prize of $200, 000 has been donated by the sponsor Nand Persaud & Company Limited.
The first ball is expected to bowl off at 9:00hrs and admission is free.
