Monedderlust FC defeated Cougars FC by a 4-0 margin when the Berbice Football Association (BFA) National Premier League Qualifying tournament continued on Sunday at the No. Number 5 Community ground, West Coast Berbice.
Raynal Frank opened the scoring for Monedderlust with a strike in the 42nd minute. Kenson Lindie would double their lead through an effort in the 53rd minute. Attlyn Brown would make it 3-0 as he netted in the 70th minute.
The outcome would be completed five minutes later as Travis Henry found the back of the net. In the earlier matchup, Rosignol United squeaked past Paradise Invaders 2-1. Delroy Ferdinand opened the scoring for the winners with a 39th minute strike.
Winston Benjamin would double his side’s advantage as he scored three minutes into the resumption of the second period. Noel August would pull one back for Paradise, scoring in the 62nd minute. Rosignol however would hold on to their one goal lead in the remaining 28 minutes to claim the win.
The previous Sunday, at the same venue, Monedderlust edged Paradise Invaders 1-0 compliments of a 39th minute effort from Attlyn Brown. The second fixture on the same date programmed to be hosted at the Scott’s School ground between New Amsterdam United and Cougars was not contested.
