LONDON, CMC- Trinidad and Tobago International Kenwyne Jones has left Stoke City for a new deal with Cardiff City, the Premier League club’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed.
Jones has been recruited along with Manchester United’s Brazilian left back Fabio and there are hopes Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha could also be recruited before the end of the transfer window on Friday.
“Fabio and Kenwyne will join training today,” Solskjaer told a news conference in Manchester before the Premier League game against United on Tuesday.
“I have just met them downstairs and that is more or less done”.
The Trinidad and Tobago striker, 29, was frozen out at Stoke after refusing to play against Liverpool.
Cardiff have not disclosed how long Jones has signed for.
Jones became Stoke’s record signing in August 2010, when he joined from Sunderland for £8m, and scored 26 goals in 115 appearances.
Cardiff have slipped to the bottom of the table and are in danger of relegation following their promotion to the Premier League for the first time last year.
