At about 1500h yesterday, Talesha Persaud, 7 years, of No. 71 Village, Corentyne, was struck down by a motor vehicle on the No. 71 Public Road as she allegedly attempted to cross the roadway, police say.
She succumbed while receiving medical treatment at the Skeldon Hospital.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
