Magistrate Sunil Scarce on Wednesday remanded a man allegedly found with two grammes of cocaine to prison. The Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court heard that on January 25, Rudolph Carrington, 42, of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, had in his possession narcotics, that is to say two grammes of cocaine.
Carrington pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when it was read to him.
The court heard that police on patrol in the Anna Regina Back Street area found Carrington in possession of the narcotic and he was then taken into police custody.
After being refused bail, Carrington was ordered to return to court on February 18.
