Punt Trench resident Aubrey Reid was sentenced to a three-year jail term on Wednesday, after he was found guilty of possession of narcotics.
Reid, 44, of 170 Punt Trench Dam, who appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, was also fined $10,000.
It was alleged that he had two grammes of cocaine, for the purpose of trafficking.
It was the police’s case that Reid was caught with the narcotics at Waterloo Street on January 11. According to Police Prosecutor Joel Ricknauth, the drug was in a film container that Reid was holding in the vicinity of Globe Yard.
