The three men who were charged with the murder of Zealand, Mahaicony farmer, Deoroop Sieuchand, 72 were further remanded when they made their second court appearance on Tuesday.
The men, Premnauth Seepersaud, 39, of De Kinderen; Karran Ramit, 23, of Planters’ Hall and Doodnauth Sieuchand, 42, of Zealand are accused of murdering the elderly man around 8:30 pm on January 4.
The case was heard at the Mahaicony Court and Magistrate Sueann Lovell ordered them to return on February 26.
Attorney-at-law, Satyesh Kissoon is representing Seepersaud and Doodnauth Sieuchand, nephew of the murdered man, while lawyers, Denise Hodge and Haymant Ramdhanie entered an appearance for Ramit.
The court heard that on the day in question, the men also robbed Ambika Sieuchand, 70, of cash and jewellery. Ambika was also badly beaten and was hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
