Dear Editor,
I would like to publicly congratulate the members of the Immigration Department for the level of courtesy and efficiency shown on my recent visit to that department. On February 3, my daughter and I visited the Immigration Department on Camp Street as she urgently needed a machine readable passport for the purpose of travelling overseas. We arrived there at 3.45pm as my daughter works at Soesdyke and after we entered the building, a female officer pleasantly directed us to the enquiry section. There we were guided by another female officer as to how to complete the process. A male cashier very politely collected the cash. The transaction did not last longer than 10-12 minutes. At all times we were treated with great courtesy and efficiency.
What a delightful surprise after hearing all the sad stories about the department. Congratulations to the staff, especially the three officers, two females and one male.
Yours faithfully,
Marva Patterson
