Port of Spain, Trinidad – Fast bowler Jerome Taylor has drawn praise from coach Junior Bennett following two impressive performances at the on-going NAGICO Insurance Super50 tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.
Taylor, who is making a return to competitive cricket since aggravating a back injury two years ago in the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20, played in two of Jamaica’s three first-round matches.
The 29-year-old, left out of the team’s opening encounter against dethroned champions Windward Islands, was given the new ball against Ireland and Guyana before finishing with three for 33 off 9.1 overs, and, none for 27 off eight, respectively.
“It is early days yet, however, I believe he has started well in regards to his comeback,” says Bennett.
“In the first game, you could see him running in and finding his rhythm, while against Guyana there was improvement in his pace and accuracy.
