A 13-year-old Enmore North boy was found hanging in his bedroom early yesterday morning and relatives are at a loss as to what might have caused him to take his life.
The lifeless body of Sawraj Camal Persaud was discovered by his five-year-old niece at approximately 05:50hrs, with a bed sheet around his neck at his lot 73 Enmore North home. The girl had been sent by Persaud’s mother to wake him up. However she returned to her grandmother and said her uncle was swinging from the roof.
“We have no idea,” said Persaud’s older brother Vickey, when asked what might have caused his brother to commit suicide. He said his brother was a normal child and had a lot of friends in the neighbourhood, as well as at church and at school. He added that the boy was always happy, although he did have a bit of a temper.
Persaud’s sister Nicola said there was nothing out of the ordinary when he returned home from school around 3 pm on Friday. Persaud attended the Enmore Primary School.
According to Nicola, Persaud had even attended a church youth meeting that evening and returned at 8 pm. He then had dinner and went to his bedroom to complete an assignment. She told this publication that he would open up to her or their mother whenever he had a problem. She declared that she too, like other family members was left with many unanswered questions.in bedroom
