The Ramdhani siblings Narayan and Priyanna were victorious to win their respective doubles finals when the GUMDAC annual Open badminton tournament ended on Saturday at the Queen’s College badminton courts.
The tournament, which commenced on Friday concluded Saturday with the fi nals of the men and women’s doubles.
In the women’s doubles final Priyanna Ramdhani teamed up with Ambika Ramraj to defeat Althea McDavid and Abosaide Cadogan 21-9, 21-11 while in the men’s doubles final Narayan Ramdhani teamed up with fellow national player Nicholas Ali to defeat Christopher Persaud and Noel Shewjattan 21-18, 21-14.
Third place in the women’s doubles went to the pair of Angelica Da Silva and Krystal Peters while in the men’s doubles the pairs of Gokarn Ramdhani and Darrell Carpenay and Raymond and Jason Ray Khalil were joint third.
Meanwhile the annual National Sports Commission sponsored age group junior tournament begins on Friday at the same venue.
