Dear Editor,
I cannot thank you enough for devoting your Monday editorial to the plight of the families in Lamaha Gardens. What was once a peaceful residential area has now become a high-risk heavy traffic area with the many minibuses in and out of Sophia.
My three children are growing up without any recreational space in which they can play. We need to get back our playground.
My question is, since this is a clear case of fraud, why can’t the police institute criminal proceedings instead of all of us now having to raise funds for a legal battle in the courts?
You are right in reporting that we have found that those who ‘tendered’ for this huge lot of land were all connected to each other, including one man, who submitted a bid of $6.5 million for land worth around $175 million.
The police or the government must intervene.
Yours faithfully,
Elton Lowe
