Crime Chief Seelall Persaud yesterday said the police are currently working on several pieces of information concerning who pulled the trigger of the gun that shot businessman Deokarran ‘Ram’ Sanasie last week Friday.
Contacted for an update into the investigations, Persaud said they have some information from New York, but this is yet to be verified. He added that they want to verify the information and then they would work on how they are going to collect it.
Sanasie, 58, of Lot 129 Atlantic Gardens, East Coast Demerara was shot last Friday evening by a man who approached him and discharged several shots while he was drinking with persons in the vicinity of his business place, Ram’s Auto Sales on Fourth and Light streets, Alberttown.
He was rushed to a private city hospital. He sustained wounds to his left thigh and abdomen.
The man has since expressed concerns for this safety, and has since gone into hiding.
His wife, Patsy, and her brother, Vishnu Persaud. who were questioned by police have since denied any involvement, and the woman said she has filed a restraining order against him.
