A post-mortem examination is to be conducted today on the body of 20-year-old Quacy Leigh, who died last Wednesday morning following an accident the night before.
The driver of motorcar PPP 6592 was taken into police custody last Tuesday night at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after he took the injured man to the hospital. He was released on station bail on Friday this newspaper was made to understand and he is expected to make a court appearance tomorrow.
“We had just finished basketball practice at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and me and he [Leigh] de riding our bicycles and chatting with each other. Next thing I hear he stop talk and I look back, didn’t see him and then I saw the bicycle in the air in front of me,” Carlos Edwards, Leigh’s cousin told this newspaper.
Family members on the night of the accident said that Leigh of 234 East Ruimveldt, was unconscious. He was reportedly hit from behind by the car on Homestretch Avenue around 10 pm.
