Digicel donated building materials and assisted in constructing a basketball court fence for the Kwakwani community on February 21 as part of their 7th anniversary celebrations.
The materials, according to a press release from Digicel were donated to the Kwakwani Interest Team after a request was made to build a fence around their basketball court. That release further stated that in addition to providing materials, a team of fifteen Digicel employees travelled to Kwakwani to assist in the building of the fence.
Head of the Kwakwani Interest Team and coach of the Junior Basketball Team, Anne Gordon said that she couldn’t be more grateful for Digicel’s staunch support, the release said. The release also quoted Gordon as saying “We appreciate everything that Digicel is doing for us here in Kwakwani especially in the line of basketball. The fence was really needed and Digicel has always supported us and we are forever grateful. This will benefit the young people whose lives revolve around basketball.”
Communications Manager, Vidya Sanichara, according to the release said that the project is one of the many community outreach programmes that Digicel Guyana is involved in.
