NP Electronics spearheaded by top player Michael Vieira on Monday defeated Titans B when the Guyana Table Tennis Association League Teams Table Tennis Tournament began at the National Gymnasium Mandela Avenue.
Vieira defeated Jewell Todd and NP Electronics also got wins from
Xenophen Goliath and Sammy Boodhoo in their 3-0 defeat of Titans B whose other two players were Mark Evans and Victor Harrinandan.
In the other completed matches Malteenoes Sports Club “A” comprising Shemar Britton and Chelsea and Kyle Edghill, defeated Blue Thunder “A” (Remy Taitt, Devon Richmond and Vernon Rodrigues) 3-0 while Blue Thunder “A” beat Malteenoes Sports Club “B” (Kevin Prass, Kevon Corbin and Tyriq Saunders) 3-0.
The league, which is expected to end in April, continues tomorrow. Eight teams are competing in the A division and 14 each in the B and C divisions.
Meanwhile the presentation of prizes for the annual Mashramani tournament will take place on Monday at the National Gymnasium Mandela Avenue starting from 5pm.
