A La Grange, West Bank Demerara businesswoman was found dead in her shop at Rock Creek, Cuyuni River, on Thursday and two men who were renting living quarters from her are persons of interest, police said yesterday.
Bibi Shaneeza Bhola, 35, was found dead with a single stab wound to her abdomen. Crime Chief Seelall Persaud yesterday told reporters that Bhola’s shop contained living quarters as well as selling quarters and the two men living in the shop.
According to Persaud, a relative of Bhola had visited her around 4:30pm on Wednesday and later left. He said when the relative returned on Thursday morning, the premises were locked from the outside.
He said that Bhola was dead inside the shop.
Persaud said the two tenants could not be found and their belongings were gone as well.
When Stabroek News visited Bhola’s residence at La Grange, the persons at her refused to speak to this newspaper. They said that Bhola’s closer relatives had travelled to Rock Creek to conduct business in light of her death.
