KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Jahmar Hamilton struck his second first class hundred to propel Leeward Islands into a match-winning position on the penultimate day of their first round WICB Regional Four-Day clash against Combined Campuses and Colleges here yesterday.
The 23-year-old right-hander’s 119 formed the foundation of the Leewards’ 299, after they resumed the day at Warner Park on a tentative 135 for five – just 97 runs ahead.
At the close, CCC were 110 for four, in pursuit of 262 for victory, with Chadwick Walton on 36 not out and captain Stephen Jacobs on 20.
Fast bowler Gavin Tonge has so far taken three for 25. The recent woes of the Leewards seemed set to continue especially after their top order fell meekly on Sunday’s second day, to leave CCC in control of the game.
