Dear Editor,
I wish to join the Attorney-General in condemning those members of the Bar who photocopy the law reports rather than buy same; a rather ironic state of affairs given recent government policy.
The promotion of law reporting and legal scholarship is an essential part of the growth and development of our indigenous jurisprudence. This is an important step to restore our reputation for judicial excellence and legal scholarship amongst our Caribbean and Commonwealth colleagues. The Guyana Law Reports are not expensive and are a worthy investment.
Similarly, I also commend the publication of the Laws of Guyana in printed form and would urge my colleagues to buy them when the ministry completes its publicity tour and informs us of the price.
Yours faithfully,
Ronald Burch-Smith
