Left arm spinner Sulieman Benn yesterday bowled defending champions Barbados to first innings points against Guyana in their day/night encounter of the West Indies Cricket Board regional four day competition at the Providence National Stadium.
Barbados had made 184 on the first day with Roston Chase topscoring with 55.
Debutant fast bowler Raun Johnson and left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul each picked up three wickets for 38 runs.
Chasing 185 for first innings points, the Guyana batsmen yesterday flattered to deceive as only openers Sewnarine Chattergoon with an even 50 and young Tagenarine Chanderpaul who was run out for 41 made any worthwhile contribution as Benn grabbed 5-28 and Ashley Nurse 3-51 as the Guyanese were dismissed fo3 140.
Wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble made 22.
Barbados batting a second time were 111/4 at press time with Kevin Stoute not out on 14 and Shane Dowrich not out on five.
Johnson has so far taken two wickets while Devendra Bishoo and Narsingh Deonarine have taken one wicket each.
Today is the third day.
