David Rose Secondary crushed Richard Ishmael Secondary 5-1 when the Milo/Petra Organization Schools Football tourney continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Stephon Green opened the scoring for David Rose in the 24th minute with a strike to the right hand side of the net after being played into a one on one situation with the opposing goalkeeper.
David Rose would double their lead nine minutes later as Sherwin Charles found the back of the net with a volleyed right
footed strike from inside the centre of the 18 yard box, after collecting a left sided cross.
It soon became 3-0 as Akeem Giddings etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 43rd minute through a penalty conversion to the left hand corner. Further goals by Adrian Wong and Sherwin Joe in the 44th and 58th minutes respectively sealed the easy win.
Netting a consolation goal in the 60th minute was Richardo King. In the second matchup, Kingston Secondary breezed past Carmel Secondary 3-1.
Levi Williams opened the scoring for Kingston in the seventh minute with a powerful 22 yard free kick into the top right hand corner of the net. Marlon Nedd would level the score line for Carmel as he slotted home to the bottom of the woodwork in the 14th minute.
Kingston would retake the lead in the 31st minute as Alistair Holder netted with a 20 yard right footed screamer into the back of the net from the centre of the field. The result would be completed in the 45th minute as Shawn Gravesande scored.
In the earlier matchups, Queen’s College overcame Tutorial Secondary 2-1 and Tucville Secondary lost to North Georgetown Secondary by a 1-0 score line.
