MOUNT MAUNGANUI, New Zealand, CMC – New Zealand Women beat West Indies by 34 runs to complete a clean sweep over the West Indies in their Twenty20 series in Mount Maunganui here yesterday.
New Zealand dismissed West Indies for 90 in reply to their 124 for five.
New Zealand’s captain Suzie Bates led the scoring with 57, and Sophie Devine clinched three Windies wickets for just nine runs.
The win gave the hosts the series 4-0, after sweeping the one-day contest 3-0.
On Saturday, the West Indies lost by eight wickets after being restricted to 99 for seven and New Zealand reaching 103 for two with more than three overs to spare.
Bates was named Player of the Match and the T20 series.
Both sides will soon depart for Bangladesh for the upcoming World Twenty20 tournament starting later this month.
