Guyhoc caterer accused of $2.4M house lot fraud

A Guyhoc Park caterer is accused of defrauding two persons of $2.4 million after being entrusted with the money to buy house lots.

Keisha Oudkerk, 28, of Q77 Guyhoc Park, denied the allegations when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 1, where bail was set at $100,000.

Oudkerk allegedly committed the crime between May 8 and July 19, 2013. According to the particulars of the charge, Oudkerk falsely obtained $2.4 million from Regan James and Candace Seely by pretending that she was in the position to sell them house lots, despite knowing that the claims were false.

The woman’s attorney, Euclin Gomes, noted that the police’s investigations have been ongoing for quite some time and that his client had been cooperative with all of their requests.

According to Prosecutor Michael Grant, Oudkerk was in the company of another on the dates in question. This person, Grant said, has already been charged.

Prosecutor Grant raised no objections to the woman being released on bail, which was granted. Oudkerk will make her next appearance on March 18 in court 5.
