The MV Malali which is currently plying the Parika to Bartica route will undergo repairs this week and is expected to be fully operational by Monday next.
In a press release, the Transport and Harbours Department said the vessel is operating with one engine only which makes it difficult for her to reach Bartica within the stipulated time period of four hours. The required parts of the engine are expected in the country on Thursday via MACORP. Meanwhile, the MV Makouria which is the designated vessel on the Parika to Bartica route is currently docked at the EC Vieira Drydock for its scheduled dry-dock rehabilitation repair works. The MV Makouria is expected to resume operations in the first week of April.
