Dennis Harris, who succumbed at the West Demerara Regional Hospital after cutting one of his wrists in a drunken rage while trying to force his way into his house last week, died of severe haemorrhaging caused by a punctured vein, an autopsy has found.
His common-law wife, Yonette Gumbs of Lot 1525 Onderneeming, Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara was released from police custody on Monday after the autopsy was performed on Harris’ body at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Gumbs told Stabroek News that she was glad everything was over but was sorry how everything ended. She said she was a victim of abuse for years
