Cumberland and St. Aloysius Primary schools yesterday won their latest matches of the Guyana Cricket Board/ Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket Festival played at All Saints ground, New Amsterdam.
In the day’s first game, Forth Ordnance Primary School lost to Cumberland by 17 runs.
Batting first Fort Ordnance Primary scored 113 all out in their 12 overs. Brandon Pydana took 4-7 for Cumberland, who replied with 130-8 from their allotted. Nazeel Mondal and Carl Gilgeous were joint top scorers with 10 while Imran Griffith took 2-5 for Fort Ordnance.
In the final game of the day, St. Aloysius Primary School defeated St. Theresa Primary by 26 runs.
Taking first strike St. Aloysius made 187-9 assisted by 34 extras, with Anthony Williams making 13. Delon Alleyne, Shellon Sampson, Sherwin Cadogan and Jesteno Narine took two wickets each for St. Theresa who replied with 161-7 in 12 overs.
Their principal scorers were Joshua Hercules and Jesteno Narine both with 10.
