KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC- Olympic and World Indoor champion Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce leads a talented field of athletes already booked for the IAAF Jamaica International Invitational in May.
Organisers of the meet, scheduled for May 1st, say more big names are expected to be included for the prestigious event on May 3.
Fraser-Pryce, fresh from claiming the World Indoor 60m gold medal, will be joined by Olympic 200m champion Allyson Felix of the United States and rising Nigerian star Blessing Okagbare.
Also confirmed are Jamaica-born 400m Olympic champion, Sanya Richards-Ross, 100m hurdles World champion Briana Rollins and World Indoor 400m champion Francena McCorory.
Fraser-Pryce’s compatriots and MVP teammates, Kaliese Spencer and Stephenie McPherson, have also been booked for the event.
400m World champion, American LaShawn Merritt and his compatriot Curtis Mitchell, a bronze medallist in the 200m at last year’s Moscow Championships, lead the male contingent.
