Twenty-two junior police officers graduated from a Personal Computer (PC) Repairs/Maintenance Course yesterday, at the Guyana Police Force Training Centre.
The course which ran from March 10-15, 2014, saw the officers gain knowledge in computer repairs and maintenance.
The Force Training Officer of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said, the programme was offered free of charge and is in keeping with the modernisation process of the GPF, alluded to by Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee, last December. Computer Consultant Naresh Singh, who lectured, said his wish is to see the beneficiaries pass on the information they received. J Subraj, Senior Vice President of Zhara Group of Companies, who also trained the officers, further encouraged them.
The course’s objectives were to provide technical knowledge, skills and customer related abilities needed for successful computer servicing and repairs; to enhance and sustain a computer technician’s ability to perform tasks, inclusive of installation, configuration, trouble shooting and solving hardware and software problems.
