The Bishops’ High trounced School of the Nations by a 5-1 margin when the Milo/Petra Organization Schools Football tourney continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Joel Morrison opened the scoring in the second minute for Bishops’ as he struck his effort into the bottom of the net from inside the penalty area.
School of the Nations would level the score line five minutes later in the form of a Lyndon Dorway penalty kick conversion following a foul inside the 18 yard box.
Bishops’ High would retake the lead in the 30th minute as Davin Chan headed home into the right hand side of the net from the centre of the penalty area, after collecting a perfectly placed right sided Nathaniel King cross.
With the scores unchanged for the remainder of the first half, Bishops would add to their score in the 52nd minute as Morrison completed his double with a strike to the lower right hand corner of the net.
Playing provider for majority of proceedings, King would cap off a fine team performance with a brilliant solo effort in the 54th minute.
Picking up the ball from the left side of the midfield, King would skip past four markers before placing his right footed with the outside of his boot from the left side of the area into the right hand corner.
The lopsided result would be completed four minutes later as Romario Gonsalves etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.
In the third fixture, defending champion St. George’s Secondary were held to a goalless draw by Queenstown Secondary. In other results, Lodge Secondary mauled St. Mary’s Secondary 3-0 and Dolphin Secondary defeated South Ruimveldt Secondary by a 2-0 margin.
