Defending female champions Tutorial Secondary were held to a 0-0 draw by East Ruimveldt Secondary when the fourth edition of the Guyana Sports Development Foundation (GSDF) Pepsi/Scotia Bank Football tourney commenced yesterday.
Hosted at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue, East Ruimveldt’s Christine Sookram would fashion the best chance of the scrappy fixture in the 57th minute of the second period.
Lurking inside the centre of the penalty box, Sookram’s right footed strike would be denied by Tutorial custodian Decaycia Norville.
Prior to the commencement of the event, a march past featuring the competing schools was held of which North Georgetown was adjudged the winner of the march.
Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) representative Larry Wills opened the tourney with ceremonial kick off while tournament coordinator Lawrence Griffith and Brenda Harmon delivered the feature address and vote of thanks respectively.
