Former national lightweight champion, Revlon Lake will be the first local pugilist to take the ring when the Caribbean Contender Boxing Series boxes off in Jamaica on Wednesday.
The Barbados-based Lake will match gloves with former CABOFE welterweight titlist, Jamaican, Sakima Mullings.
The bout was decided after the host team succeeded in the first round of activities which included a bag race, egg and spoon and a three-legged race.
After gaining the upper hand in the challenges, the eight-man Jamaican (Team Yellow), chose Mullings to open their campaign and subsequently chose Lake (Team Green) to be his opponent.
The green team comprises four Guyanese boxers (Howard Eastman, Derrick Richmond, Gladwin Dorway and Lake), two Barbadians, a Trinidadian and an Antiguan.
The opening ceremony was held yesterday. At the conclusion of the tournament, the top boxer will pocket $J2M.
