Kingston Secondary overcame Richard Ishmael by a 3-1 margin when the Milo/Petra Organization Schools Football tourney continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Shawn Grovesor would open the scoring for Kingston Secondary, finishing his right footed strike to the back of the net from inside the penalty area.
Richard Ishmael would level proceedings in the 25th minute as Ike Padmore clinically converted his right footed attempt from the centre of the 18 yard box to the lower left hand corner of the goal.
Kingston would retake the lead in the 32nd minute of the second period as Grovesor completed his double, powering his strike from the left side of the penalty box to the right hand side of the net.
The result would be completed in the 40th minute as Vincent Thomas converted from the penalty mark after Kingston was awarded the spot kick for a foul inside the box. In the final fixture of the day, Queens College defeated Chase Academy 2-0.
Queens College would take the lead in the 21st minute through a Michael DeCosta strike from inside the right side of the penalty box that went through the legs of the opposing custodian, after the defender missed his attempted clearance at the ball.
Queens College would the upset win, doubling their lead in the 51st minute through a brilliant overhead right footed volleyed strike from Jaydev Mona from within the right side of the penalty area, which settled into the top left hand side of the net after collecting a left sided cross.
In the earlier matchups, the fixture between St. Winifred and Tutorial Secondary was abandoned in the 57th minute due to the fighting between the participants and their supporters on the field.
At the time of the stoppage, the score was locked at 2-1 in the favour of St. Winifred. In the opening fixture, Carmel Secondary overwhelmed a David Rose Secondary unit that featured only seven players by a 16-0 score line.
