National rugby player, Theodore Henry rolled back the clock and put on a vintage performance, recording three of the five tries in Caribs’ 31-12 romp of the UG Wolves.
In the second game of the Bounty Farm 15s tournament yesterday at the National Park, Henry teamed up with another national player Claudius Butts (three conversions and a try) and Grantley Williams (one try) to help the Caribs school the rugby players
of Guyana’s highest learning institution.
Two penalty tries and Lance Adonis’ conversion were not enough for the Wolves to create an upset of the more experienced Caribs squad.
In the first game of the tournament on Saturday, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ruggers held their nerve and handed the Pepsi Hornets a stinging 33-22 defeat.
Tries by John Sargeant, Patrick King, Avery Corbin, Jamaina Jacobs and Revon Williams as well as four conversions by Clive Prowell, propelled the soldiers to victory.
Blaise Bailey, Delroy Gordon (twice) and Ryan Gonsalves were the players that crossed the tri-line for Hornets. National captain Gonsalves also chipped in with a conversion.
The second round of the tournament continues this weekend at the same venue.
