(Barbados Nation) Desmond Haynes’ cries for justice have been answered with an apology and promise of a full investigation.
The Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) yesterday apologised to the Barbados and West Indies cricket legend for the difficulties he faced while attempting to gain smooth access to Kensington Oval on March 9, hours before the first Twenty20 game between the West Indies and England.
In a release, nine days after the incident BCA chief executive officer, Rollins Howard, revealed that the governing body for local cricket had officially expressed its regret at what had happened to Haynes.
When contacted yesterday, Howard said that Haynes, chairman of the Cricket Legends of Barbados Inc. (CLOBI), had received a personal apology regarding the incident, in which he was forced to queue with patrons in lines outside the historic venue, and wasn’t immediately allowed access to a luxury suite hosted by CLOBI for the match.
