Bravados Cricket Club and three other teams recorded victories in the latest round of the East Coast cricket trophy competition played last weekend.
Spearheaded by half centuries from Kellon Carmichael (85), Marcus Watkins (56) and an even 50 by Earl Gilkes, Bravados Cricket Club mauled Mahaica Sports Club by 160 runs in a game reduced to 30 overs at Unity Cricket Club Ground. Bravados won the toss and took first strike scoring 328-8 from 30 overs on the back of aggressive batting from Carmichael, Watkins and Gilkes. Bowling for Mahaica, Avanash Chowti took 4-62 from six overs while Suresh Chumandat and Atomdeo Persaud each had two wickets.
In reply, Mahaica made 168 all out from 30 overs. Avanash Chowti completed a good day in the field by following up his 4-62 to top score with 50. Cornell Sobers 6-0-31-4 was the pick of the Bravados bowlers receiving support from Alex Cully who finished with figures of 6-0-35-3.At the Ogle Cricket Club Ground, Mon Repos went down to Plaisance Cricket Club by seven wickets.
