An unbeaten half-century from Amzaan Appalsamy steered the Corriverton Cricket Club to a 124-run win over No.71 Cricket Club last weekend, taking them to the Price is Right Supermarket final against No. 70 M.Y.O which is set for April 6 at the Skeldon Community Centre ground.
Overnight showers forced officials to shave five overs off each innings making the encounter a 45 overs per side one. Corriverton, batting first, scored 250 for 8 from their allotted 45 overs with Appalsamy blazing four fours and nine sixes in his 97 batting at number 9. He was supported by Clavern Beresford (39) and Anthony Seeraj (25).
Bowling for No. 71, G. Jaggernauth captured 3 for 62 off nine overs and K. Roopraj 3 for 36 off seven overs. In reply No. 71 were bowled out for 126 with Soomdat Singh offering resistance with a top score of 68 (4×4, 4×6) while Deoprakash Ramdat made (19).
Faoud Bacchus was the chief destroyer taking 6 for 22 off 9 overs and Eric Phillips took 3 for 20 off 4 overs. For his efforts with the bat, Appalsamy was named match MVP.
