The Mayor’s All-Stars Football team completed their Surinamese Tour on winning note, defeating Suriname’s U-20 side by a 2-1 score line.
They had earlier lost the first game played at the Emile La de Fuente Sports Centrum ground in Paramaribo 0-1 with Gasper Conswette, scoring from the penalty spot after Delon Lanferman had handled the ball.
Playing against the Suriname Voetball Bond U20 side in the second encounter, Den Amstel forward Jeffrey Perreira led the All-Stars as he scored a double.
The Mayor’s All Stars team then completed their tour with an 11-1 drubbing of youth team Prakash FC.
Leading the local side with doubles were Vurlon Mills, Joshua Kamal and Tichard Joseph while Kevin Layne, Shemroy Arthur, Ronel Arthur, Delon Lanferman and Perreira each netted once goal apiece in the lopsided win.
Pele’s goalkeeper Devon Charles was outstanding during the tour.
