The Guyana National Men’s Hockey team which is expected to compete in the 2014 Indoor Pan American Cup from April 7-13 in Uruguay, has been officially selected.
The squad which features a balance of experienced and youth players will depart for Lethem on the April 4 and then travel by road to Boa Vista before making connecting flights to Manaus and Sao Paulo, arriving in Uruguay on April 5.
Coached by Robert Fernandes and managed by Gavin Hope and his assistant Andrew Xavier, the Guyana side will be paired against power houses Canada, Argentina, USA and Uruguay as they attempt to qualify for the 2015 Indoor World Cup in the week-long event.
The complete national team roster is Devin Munroe, Aderemi Simon, Anthony Cole, Marvin Dannett, Robert France, Raphael DeGroot, Jamarj Assanah, Andrew Stewart, Aroydy Branford,Mark Sargeant, Kevin Spencer, Shane Samuels and Laured Stewart.
