Houston Stars downed Black Pearl FC by a 3-1 score line when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) second division league continued at the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ground on Vlissengen Road and Carifesta Avenue on Tuesday.
In the opening half which featured few clear cut chances, Eon Hunter would open the scoring for Houston Stars through a 15th minute strike to the back of the woodwork.
He would complete his double in the 58th minute of the second period compliments of a right footed penalty kick conversion to the lower left hand corner of the net following an infringement inside the 18-yard box.
The result and three points would be sealed two minutes later as Lauren Murray etched his name on the scorer’s sheet with a strike to the back of the net from within the centre of the penalty box.
In the second fixture of the doubleheader, Santos FC defeated Mocha based unit Riddim Squad by an identical score line. The action continues at the same venue with a doubleheader today.
