Results of a ‘poll’ published recently expose former President Bharrat Jagdeo’s campaign for a third term and are a direct challenge to President Donald Ramotar who is paying the price for his inaction, former PPP stalwart Ralph Ramkarran says.
“Unless the Jagdeo grip on the throat of the party and government is prised open by President Ramotar, finger by finger, and he nurtures the leaders (who understand the primacy of the PPP’s commitment to the disadvantaged within certain ideological perspectives and underpinnings) and they in turn show some political courage, the intellectual successors of Dr Jagdeo will eventually inherit the leadership of the party and government,” Ramkarran writes in his column published in today’s Sunday Stabroek.
