The Georgetown Football Association (GFA) First Division League will continue today at the Tucville Community Centre ground with a doubleheader.
In the feature contest at 20:00hrs, home side Fruta Conquerors will battle the Guyana Police Force in an eagerly anticipated showdown. Off to a perfect start following their victory over Camptown by a 3-1 score line in their league opener, the Tucville side will attempt to continue their winning ways as they look to the quartet of Eon Alleyne, Trevon Lythcott, Jermaine Junior and Dwayne Lawrence to power them to victory, when opening whistle sounds.
Calvin Allen, coach of the Tucville outfit during an invited comment said “Preparation has been going good so far. After two competitive games, we have a good idea of where we were at and what we need to work on.
Going forward we will look to improve on our weak areas well as on our strong areas.
“We expect to come out victorious as we have been putting out the work required. I respect the Police team and what they have done over the years but we are more technical and tactical and I expect to be victorious easily.
“Hopefully if everything goes to plan we will come out victorious tonight and look to maintain our unbeaten record in the league as well look to go from strength to strength,” said Allen. The opening fixture of the evening at 18:00hrs will witness the Shem Porter led Flamingo FC outfit battling the emerging Beacon FC in what promises to be an exciting showdown.
